New Workout (Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Trainer)

by Christy on January 17, 2012

Jamie Eason LiveFit TrainerFor months now I have been struggling to get the athletic body I want. I can build muscle without a problem, but I have a problem getting the body fat off. I look bulky when I want to look cut. I have tried several different things with my eating since eating is the biggest part of losing weight. Six-pack abs are made in the kitchen.

Here are a few things I have tried:

  • I’ve tried cutting my calories down to 1,250, on the days I don’t work out. Then I eat 1,700 calories on the days I work out. That didn’t work.
  • I tried eating 1,300 to 1,500 calories a day. That didn’t work.
  • Then I tried lowering my carb intake. That didn’t work.
  • I tried lowering my fat intake. That didn’t work.

I was getting to the point that I was measuring out my food. Despite all of that my body didn’t change. I became this crazy lady obsessing over her weight. Here I was measuring my food, while my husband could eat almost anything with no weight gain. This was starting to piss me off.

When I tell people what I have been trying, some people get it and others just say it sounds like too much work (and they look at me like I’m nuts). Sometimes it takes a little elbow grease, but in the end you are a better person for all the hard work. If it was easy then everyone would be in shape and we wouldn’t have the highest obesity rate ever. I look at it this way: once I crack the code the hard part will be behind me.

So this brings me to what I’m doing today. My husband found the LiveFit Trainer by Jamie Eason, my fitness idol, on Bodybuilding.com. It is a 12 week program modeled after what she does to get into shape. She also gives you some great tasting and healthy recipes. She even tells you how often and what food group to eat from. I hope this workout will get my to were I want.

The most important thing is I feel like I am alive again. I’m enjoying the workouts and I feel like I’m eating real food again. So, I guess just stay tuned to see what happens as the weeks pass. I will keep you posted each month as I go to each phase.

Did I Put On A Bikini This Summer?

I put it out there that I was going to get into a bikini this summer. Did I get that bikini body that we all crave? Well, I didn’t get that ultra-flat smooth stomach I was after. I still have my pregnant belly skin to tighten back up. My stomach isn’t too bad, but just [...]

Sixteen-Spice Chicken with Cilantro-Pumpkin Seed Sauce

Working Out or Eating Healthy: Which One Really Takes Off Weight?

Are You What You Eat? YES. If you spend most of your time going through a drive through, stuffing your face with burgers and fries, I bet you look the way you eat. On the other hand, if you eat a clean diet and cook most of it yourself, I bet you feel good from [...]

Treasure Triangles

Essential Lifestyle Notes: These sound like a strange mix for kids, but they are scrumptious and my children gobbled them up. They even asked to make more the next day. My children are typically picky eaters. They loved that they got to make them, it helped make them taste that much better. This is a [...]

Potato, Sweet Potato, Yams: They All Look The Same, But Are They?

First things first: they all look the same, but that is were it stops. Potatoes belongs to the Solanaceae family which include tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, and tomatillos. Taco Potion #19 Recipe : Alton Brown

Notes: This is just as easy as a packet and tastes better thanks to Alton Brown. Also try this over lettuce instead of a corn tortilla. I use ground turkey for my tacos about 1 1/2 – 2 lbs. Then I use two fresh limes and squeeze them onto the turkey. Then I use vegetable [...]

Workouts and Makeup: Do They Go Together?

Are you a makeup wearer at the gym? This is something I have never understood. I have been working out for almost 20 years now and I still don’t get it. I have never worn make-up working out. I just don’t get it. The last thing I want when I’m lifting and sweating is makeup [...]

Lemon-Blueberry-Ricotta-Buttermilk Pancakes

Notes: The first time I made these pancakes by Bobby Flay I made them exactly like the recipe and they are great. Now, I make the pancakes with whole wheat flour and raw sugar, and I don’t use the butter. They are delicious and my kids love them. I always make extra so I can [...]
